our Story.

Charlene Turner and Diana Floris met in 2011 in Sugar Land, Texas. Both having children with disabilities, they shared a mutual desire to start a school for students with special needs. A school that would provide a year round education, enhanced by brain-based science. After a camp style "try out' in August 2012 and the acquisition of a  license from the Department of Family and Protective Services, True Knight Academy officially opened its first summer camp on June 17, 2013.

Our Mission

True Knight Academy provides students with disabilities an individualized program in a Christian atmosphere. The goal is to bring each child to their fullest potential.

My daughter Hannah has been attending summer camps at TK HSA for the past 2 summers. She has thoroughly enjoyed the camps and especially looks forward to the field trips, which are included everyday!! This camp allows Hannah to do fun activities during the summer but also provides her with the opportunity to work on social skills and make new friends. Charlene and Diana and the other teachers and staff are dedicated to providing a fun yet productive environment for the kids. Hannah also now attends the full day program and we’re off to a great start to their inaugural first year! Hannah enjoys being at school and likes to brag about the good grades she is making.
